Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Championships Earned by Bilstein Short Course Racers

Bilstein Shock Absorbers has been a core performance component in all forms of motorsports however off road racing clearly demonstrates the technology on a raw physical scale. Simply put no other form of motorsports offers the rapid concentration of pure kernel excitement that short course racing facilitates. With the 2018 Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series coming to an end, it was the Bilstein drivers in the Pro Lite and Pro Buggy divisions that claimed the 2018 championships.

The defining moment for any racer is that moment after winning their first championship. All the hard work and endless effort is finally realized and gratified. One huge moment for Bilstein backed Pro Lite racer; Ryan Beat, came to fruition and paid after many years of continuous effort. With 9 podium finishes including 4 wins out of 11 races, Beat garnered a commanding lead over the entire division and captured the 2018 Pro Lite Championship.

“Wow! Words can’t express this feeling,” an elated Ryan Beat beamed. “Six years into this series battling hard through ups and downs and five years of battling as a team owner we can finally say we did it. It is awesome to bring home a championship for Bilstein. Collectively as a team we have definitely been tested throughout but all the late nights and hard work has proven its worth. As with anything this could not have been accomplished without the support and dedication of my family, my crew, and my partners. These are everyone that makes up our team and this championship is not only mine it is all of ours!”

If there is anything better than winning a first championship it has got to be winning a third consecutive championship and smashing all the Lucas Oil Off Road Pro Buggy Records while you do it. Bilstein racer Darren Hardesty Jr. completed that ultimate mission this season with 9 podium finishes including 6 race wins.

Darren’s record breaking season was culminated by a 2nd place finish in the final round garnished by the Optima Batteries Fast Lap Award. Hardesty’s Pro buggy season is also highlighted by a 2nd place finish in the Lucas Oil Challenge Cup. Hardesty now has 16 race wins and has become the winningest Pro Buggy racer in Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series history. Darren’s on track performance was handedly managed in part by Bilstein Shock Absorbers.

“What an amazing season,” exclaimed Hardesty. “We were swinging hard going for the win and doing our very best to perform for all our partners. Bilstein has made a commanding difference in the race program and I am very proud to bring home another Pro Buggy Championship. ”

Trophies on the shelf are truly much more than measurements of accolades and performance. After all, race wins and championships are hard earned and often come only with the toil of blood sweat and tears. Bilstein congratulates Ryan Beat and Darren Hardesty’s efforts in their quest for a Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series Championship.
