Podium place for BILSTEIN and Black Falcon

Strong performance and many class victories at the 24h race at the Nürburgring 2019

In front of 230,000 spectators, Black Falcon impressed with a strong performance at the 47th ADAC TOTAL 24h Race at the Nürburgring: The team supported by BILSTEIN finished on the podium and clinched two class victories.

The weekend began with a powerful performance for the Mercedes-AMG Black Falcon team supported by BILSTEIN: Maro Engel and his Mercedes-AMG GT3 marked the asphalt of the Nürburgring with the fastest lap time in top qualifying.

On Saturday afternoon Adam Christodoulou, Maro Engel, Manuel Metzger and Dirk Müller started the race from pole position. Maro Engel was able to defend himself against all attacks when Adam Christodoulou had to park the car shortly after 11 pm in the lead after an accident in the Yokohama-S.

After a flawless performance of over 24 hours, the Audi R8 LMS from Audi Sport Team Phoenix with starting number 4 clinched overall victory at the 47th ADAC TOTAL 24-hour race in 2019. Behind it: The Porsche 911 GT3 R with the starting number 911 of Manthey Racing, with a severe time penalty being its downfall.

The Black Falcon Mercedes-AMG GT3 finished third overall: Maximilian Buhk, Hubert Haupt, Thomas Jäger and Luca Stolz secured the highly acclaimed podium position in an action-packed race marked by numerous accidents and many Code 60 phases.

The other Black Falcon cars also delivered a brilliant and strong performance:  The production car class V 6 was won by Alexander Akimenkov, Ronny Lethmate, Carlos Rivas and Vasilii Selivanov in a Porsche 991 Carrera. Their team mates Christoph Hoffmann, Carsten Palluth, Tobias Wahl and Robert Woodside in the second V 6 Porsche perfectly completed the double victory in the class.

The Monschau Wochenspiegel Team Ferrari 488 GT3 with start number 11 scored just past a top 10 finish and finished in 11th place. The sister car with start number 22 was also fast and impressed with the fastest lap at times. In the end, there was a 13th place in the overall ranking on the credit side.

The weekend was perfect for the Subaru WRX STI by Subaru Tecnica International. Carlo van Dam, Tim Schrick, Hideki Yamauchi and Takuto Iguchi had no problems in the SS 3T class, won the class far above the rest and even captured 19th place in the overall classification.

Martin Flick, Head of Motorsports at BILSTEIN, draws a positive conclusion: “Despite two losses in the top 3, Black Falcon and BILSTEIN have managed to put a car on the podium. It was one of the toughest 24h races with very high speed and a lot of risks – and in the end the old saying was to finish 1st – you have to finish first. ”

BILSTEIN and its partners will attack again in 2020 with top rankings in the overall standings and class victories in view.
