BILSTEIN On The Podium At LOORRS Round 3 And 4

Racers secure the Pro4 and Pro2 first place positions.

Estero Beach in Ensenada, Mexico played host to a double-header of racing action this weekend. Rounds 3 and 4 of the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series were a spectacle of BILSTEIN blue and yellow lighting up the podiums.

In a very exciting performance, Doug Mittag secured the gold on Sunday and silver on Saturday, making for a powerful showing in the premier Pro4 category.

Mittag had some fuel and differential issues leading into qualifying Saturday morning – causing him to start in the back, but that didn’t put a damper on his spirits. Rather, Mittag dug deep for the motivation to fight his way to the front.

“Turned the weekend around with a second place [Saturday]. Started in the back, patiently made my way up without any contact. Qualified first today, but starting fourth after the inversion. Pumped for another race day in Mexico.” Mittag said.

Jerett Brooks had a hard fight ahead of him in round 3 as he had to fend off veteran short course and desert racer Rob MacChren. “Legendary race (Sunday). I had to work for it! Rob Mac was on my heals for 12 laps. It came down to the last lap as we caught a “410” motor truck which mixed up our battle! I was able to find the line on the outside which kept me in the lead to the checkered flag.” Brooks recalled.

With top podium position in round 3 and a third place in round 4 Brooks is sitting securely in Pro2.

ProLite champion Ryan Beat battled some gremlins throughout the weekend but still secured a podium finish, keeping himself on the top for the ProLite points championship. Beat plans to put his head down and get everything sorted out for Crandon.

“Brutal race [Saturday] with some bumping and door slamming, but managed to put the truck on the box!” Beat exclaimed.
