BILSTEIN Racer Doug Mittag Runs Strong in Chandler

Securing second place in LOORRS premiere truck class.

Round two of the 2019 Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series rang in springtime at Wild Horse Motorsports Park, in Chandler Arizona. BILSTEIN racers dusted off their machines from Glen Helen and kept their heads down as they battled through the pack.

Doug Mittag took second place in the premiere 4WD class Pro-4. Capturing both the gold medal, but also clinching his fastest lap of the weekend at 36.416 seconds.

“Great weekend in Arizona! Starting off with the top qualifying time starting us on the pole position. One small mistake during lap one in slippery conditions put me in second place. From lap one on, we applied pressure to the lead car making multiple attempts for the pass, but with the one line track it seemed impossible to make it happen without heavy contact. The top three trucks ran hard all race long and I’m stoked to walk away with a second-place podium finish.” Mittag told us.

In Pro-2, BILSTEIN racer Jerett Brooks claimed victory over the 2-wheel-drive field, leading nearly a second ahead of second place.

Ryan Beat took second place in Pro Lite, while fellow BILSTEIN-equipped competitor Mickey Thomas took the first position. Securing a one-two punch for BILSTEIN shocks on the Pro-Lite podium.
